COMMERCIAL BURGLARY/STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: 3070 Gate House Plaza (Sunoco), 1/23/21, 5:08 a.m. Two men forced entry into a business and stole merchandise. An employee arrived and the men ran away leaving behind a stolen Ford van.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY/VEHICLE PURSUIT/STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: 2051 International Drive (Saks Fifth Avenue), 1/22/21, 12:16 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a 2003 Mercedes-Benz for recklessly driving through the parking lot, but the driver refused, resulting in a pursuit. Officers determined the car had been stolen and was just involved in the commercial robbery of Saks Fifth Avenue. During the pursuit, the car crashed into a police cruiser and two men tried to run away but were both caught by officers nearby. The driver, Percy Brown, 26, of Washington, D.C., was charged with robbery, receiving stolen goods, and speed to elude. The passenger, George Shaw Jr., 48, of Maryland, was charged with petit larceny third offense, receiving stolen goods, and obstruction of justice.

BRANDISHING/ABDUCTION: 2900 block of Gallows Road,1/27/21, 4:30 p.m. A man entered a business, pushed the victim to the floor and threatened him with a gun. The man left and went to another business nearby and threatened a person with a gun before leaving in a car. The man was involved in third incident in the Mason District a short time later and was arrested by officers. Adedolapo Alao, 37, of Falls Church was charged with abduction and brandishing.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED/VEHICLE PURSUIT: Columbia Pike at Malibu Circle, 1/23/21, 1:11 a.m. An officer attempted to stop a 2012 Nissan Sentra for a traffic violation. The driver initially pulled over but then drove away, resulting in a pursuit. The driver, Ely Cruz Chavez, 34, of Alexandria, stopped down the road and was taken into custody. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and speed to elude.  

STABBING: 3000 block of Annandale Road, 1/23/21, 11 a.m. A man reported he was stabbed in the upper body by an acquaintance during an argument. The victim was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. The case remains active.

ROBBERY/PURSUIT/WEAPON VIOLATION: 3400 block of Holly Street, 1/27/21, 4:41 p.m. After being involved in two incidents in the McLean District, two former tenants went to a home to demand property and threatened the homeowner with a gun. Officers located the two driving away in a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro and attempted to stop the car. The driver refused resulting in a pursuit. The driver, Sama Alao, 38, of Falls Church, stopped down the road and was charged with eluding. The passenger, Adedolapo Alao, 37, of Falls Church, was charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 4220 Annandale Road (Kogiya), 1/28/21, 3:30 a.m. Two people forced entry into the business and took property before leaving in a SUV.  

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 4231 Markham Street (Naz Food), 1/28/21, 3:41 a.m. Two people forced entry into the business and took property.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

VEHICLE PURSUIT/WEAPONS VIOLATION: Grove Street at Herndon Parkway, 1/23/21, 5:12 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a 2007 Ford Focus for a traffic violation. The driver initially pulled over but then drove away, resulting in a pursuit. The driver, Chris Kpadeh, 20, of Reston, stopped down the road and was taken into custody. He was charged with reckless driving, speed to elude, and driving on a suspended license. A passenger, Mohamed Abdalla, 21, of Reston, was charged with two counts of possession of a concealed weapon and possessing a magazine for a firearm with the capacity of 20+ rounds.

RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 10000 block of Beach Mill Road, 1/23/21, 5:59 p.m. A homeowner heard gunshots outside and saw a car driving away. Officers responded and located multiple shell casings in the road, no injuries were reported.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 9000 block of Hagel Circle, 1/23/21, 9:53 p.m. A woman was approached by a man who demanded personal property. He drove away after obtaining the property, no injuries were reported.

RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 5900 block of River Road, 1/23/21, 3:42 a.m. A homeowner heard gunshots outside and saw a car drive away. Officers responded and located ammunition and shell casings near the road. No injuries were reported.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 6400 Springfield Mall (Macy’s), 1/24/21, 1:32 p.m. A man entered the store and threatened the cashier with a gun. He took cash before walking away, no injuries were reported.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 6506 Loisdale Road (Eyetown), 1/24/21, 11:33 p.m. A man forced entry into a business and stole merchandise. Responding officers saw Darius McKnight, 27, of Washington, D.C., exiting the store and ran after him before taking him into custody. He was charged with burglary, possession of stolen property with intent to sell, grand larceny, fleeing from a law enforcement officer and possession of burglarious tools.

MISSILE INTO VEHICLE: 7300 block of Essex Avenue, 1/26/21, 12:46 a.m. A man saw a suspicious car and began to follow it then heard a gunshot. Officers responded and discovered a bullet hole in the man’s car. No injuries were reported.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY/VEHICLE PURSUIT: 9421 Lorton Market Street (ABC Store), 1/25/21, 4:09 a.m. Officers responded to a commercial burglary alarm and saw a 2018 Dodge Journey drive away from the area. The driver, Dominique Ricard, 19, of Lorton, failed to stop for officers resulting in a pursuit. An officer utilized Stop Sticks to disable the vehicle and Ricard ran away but was caught by officers after a brief struggle. Stolen goods were recovered and she was charged with burglary, speed to elude, assault on law enforcement, hit and run, and credit card larceny. 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 7233 Little River Turnpike (Han Gang Restaurant), 1/28/21, 3:15 a.m. Two people forced entry into the business and took property before leaving in a SUV.
