Multi-Jurisdictional Effort Leads to Arrest in Commercial Burglary Series

A 27-year-old man connected to multiple burglaries committed in Northern Virginia and Maryland is now in custody after being arrested by authorities in Fulton County, Georgia. Detectives began investigating multiple overnight commercial burglaries that affected minority owned businesses earlier this year. After working closely with detectives from the Howard County, MD. Police Department, our detectives determined Kwasi Crichlow, of Washington, D.C., was responsible for three burglaries that occurred during the early morning hours of Jan. 28 and obtained warrants for his arrest on Mar. 3.

On Mar. 4, officers learned that Crichlow was entering Fairfax County in a white BMW SUV. Officers saw the car near Lorton Road at I-95 and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, which resulted in a pursuit that traveled into Maryland. Our police helicopter coordinated with officers in Prince George’s County, but Crichlow evaded arrest. Crichlow fled the National Capital Region and our law enforcement partners located him on Mar. 6, just outside Atlanta, Georgia. He was taken into custody and is currently held at the Fulton County Jail pending extradition. Detectives continue to investigate Crichlow’s involvement in several other cases and do not believe that he acted alone in these crimes. Since Crichlow’s arrest, an additional warrant was obtained for a burglary that occurred on Mar. 3 at the Ariake Restaurant in Annandale.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding these incidents or information about Crichlow’s associates to call our Mason District Station Criminal Investigation Section at 703-256-8035. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Solvers by phone – 1-866-411-TIPS (866-411-8477), by text – Type ā€œFCCSā€ plus tip to 847411, and by web – Click HERE.
