MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION 

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 9402 Richmond Highway (7-Eleven), 8/25/22, 3:21 a.m. A man walked behind the counter, threatened an employee and took money. No injuries were reported.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 7910 Richmond Highway (Walmart), 8/25/2022, 8:12 p.m. A man exited the store with unpaid merchandise. When confronted by a store employee, the 29-year-old man from Washington, D.C. assaulted the employee and ran away. The employee was treated for minor injuries. Officers found the man nearby. He was arrested and charged with robbery.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION 

STOLEN AUTO WITH APPREHENSION: 2900 block of Cedar Lane, 8/19/22, 4:50 a.m. A 48-year-old man took a 2011 Chevrolet van that was left running outside a business. Officers found the van nearby and arrested the driver. He was charged with grand larceny.

BURGLARY OF AN OCCUPIED DWELLING WITH APPREHENSION: 800 block of Alvermar Ridge Drive, 8/24/22, 4:54 p.m. Officers were called to a burglary of an occupied home. Officers saw a Jeep Compass leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the Jeep, a 20-year-old man, was arrested and charged with possession of fictitious ID, forging a public document, identity theft to avoid arrest and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Three passengers, all juveniles, were arrested and charged with possession of fictitious ID, forging a public document and identity theft to avoid arrest. All four were held on no bond. The investigation remains active as detectives continue to review and collect further evidence in this case. Detectives determined the appropriate charges and continue to gather more information to see if additional charges will be forthcoming. No injuries were reported. 

MASON DISTRICT STATION 

ROBBERY: Heritage Drive/Lafayette Forest Drive, 8/19/22, 2:33 a.m.Five men assaulted the victim and took property. The victim was treated for injuries not considered life threatening.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 4300 block of Backlick Road, 8/21/22, 2:49 a.m. Four men displayed knives and demanded property from two victims. The victims ran away. No injuries were reported. No property was taken.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 6299 Seven Corners Center (Chipotle), 8/22/22, 1:24 a.m. A security employee witnessed a man on surveillance cameras enter the business and take merchandise. Officers found the 22-year-old Falls Church man nearby and arrested him for burglary and possession of burglarious tools.

ROBBERY: 3200 block of Shadwick Place, 8/23/22, 5 p.m. A man approached the victim, displayed a handgun, took property and left in a vehicle. No injuries were reported.

ROBBERY: Gorham Street/ Leesburg Pike, 8/23/22, 10:31p.m. A man assaulted the victim, took property and ran away. No injuries were reported.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 7018 Commerce Street (iFixPhones), 8/21/22, 4:49 a.m. Someone forced entry into the business, damaged property and took merchandise. 

ROBBERY: 5500 block of Vincent Gate Terrace, 8/22/22, 3:30 p.m. The victim arranged to meet to sell property through an online marketplace application. A juvenile male approached the victim, displayed a handgun and took the property. Detectives were able to identify the juvenile. Petitions were obtained, and he was charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. No injuries were reported.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 8000 block of Rolling Road, 8/24/22, 8:48 p.m. Three juvenile males approached the victim at an ATM, displayed a handgun and attempted to take the victim’s money. No property was taken. No injuries were reported.
