Detectives Seek Community’s Help after Four Burglarize Springfield Store with Stolen Vehicle

Franconia Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are asking community members to help identify four males involved in a commercial burglary that occurred early Sunday morning.

Around 12:40 a.m., officers responded to the Smoke Bazaar at 6715 Backlick Road in Springfield after a stolen 2013 silver Hyundai Elantra drove through the storefront. The four males entered the business, stole merchandise and left the area in a stolen 2019 black Hyundai Elantra. The suspects are described as Black men, 15 to 20 years of age wearing black face masks with one wearing a green jacket.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the silver Hyundai Elantra used in the commercial burglary had not been reported stolen yet. Detectives determined the vehicle was stolen between Friday night and Saturday night from a parking lot in the 8900 block of Lorton Station Boulevard in Lorton.

The black Hyundai was reported stolen around 11:36 p.m. on Saturday from the 8900 block of Lorton Station Boulevard in Lorton. It was recovered unoccupied on Sunday morning in the 9200 block of Wildwood Lane in Lorton.
