FCPD Releases Quarterly My90 Results
Fairfax County – For the past year the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) has participated in
Axon’s My90 program. This program is used to engage the community and better understand how the
community feels about our officers and their performance after service.
The My90 program sends community members a text message, in both English and Spanish, to people
who reached out to our department requesting select types of services. The messages asked a series of
questions, such as “Based on your interaction, how do you view FCPD?” Respondents then clicked the
response: very positively, positively, neutrally, negatively, or very negatively. The confidential survey
results, paired with comprehensive analytics, will help guide our department in future engagement
strategies without collecting personal identifying information and initiating formal complaints or
commendations.
The highlights of the results include:
· High levels of overall trust and satisfaction. Of the over 10,500 responses from residents who
had recently interacted with an FCPD officer, 87% of respondents viewed their interaction with
our department as very positive.
· Residents reported that their top local safety concerns were theft, traffic offenses, and
quality-of-life.
· Residents feel respected and treated fairly. Residents strongly agree that FCPD treated them
with respect (91%), treated them fairly (88%), and officers listened to them (90%), and had their
questions answered (86%).

This most recent data shows that traffic offenses/safety remains a top area of concern throughout the
community. In March FCPD reintroduced its Road Shark program which is a high-visibility and
coordinated enforcement and education effort to deter aggressive driving, reduce crashes, and change
driving behavior. Additionally, between May 8th and May 12th FCPD launched the “50 Means 50”
campaign to deter dangerous driving behavior on the Fairfax County Parkway.
Both positive and negative comments provided offered specific suggestions to FCPD on how to improve.
Specifically, one community member emphasized, “In general, I don’t have the best opinion of police
forces. However, I do have a positive opinion of the Fairfax County Police Force. I feel they do treat all
people as fairly as possible”.
My90 and our Integrated Policing and Community initiative were designed to increase one-on-one
community collaboration and engagement. This fundamental patrol model is helping us build
connections with our community. The ultimate goal is to increase visibility, build trust and foster positive
and productive relationships with those we serve.
