Detectives Release Composite Sketch and Surveillance Image of Rape Suspect

Mason Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are asking for the community’s help in identifying a rape suspect.

On June 11, at 2:37 a.m., officers responded to the 5900 block of Seminary Road in Falls Church after a witness heard a disturbance in the wooded area between Seminary Road and Leesburg Pike. The witness observed a male standing over a woman who was on the ground in a state of undress. The victim asked the witness for help and the witness contacted the police. The suspect ran towards Leesburg Pike prior to police arrival. The victim sustained injuries that were non-life-threatening.

Detectives determined the victim was walking on Columbia Pike when the suspect began following her. He prevented her from walking away then dragged her to a wooded area near Seminary Road where he sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his late 30s or early 40s, approximately 5’5’’, 220 lbs., with a stocky frame. The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt with a white design and black jeans. A composite sketch and surveillance image can be seen below.
