FCPD and VSP Take Record ‘Road Sharks’ Off County Roads in Wave 3 of Initiative

Fairfax, VA – Between July 10 and July 16, the Fairfax County Police Department worked in conjunction with the Virginia State Police in completing the third wave of our “Road Shark” campaign within Fairfax County.

Road Shark is a high-visibility and coordinated enforcement and education effort implemented to deter aggressive driving, reduce crashes, and change driving behavior. Our Officers and VSP Troopers are an essential part of this successful campaign to stop Fairfax County “road sharks” on our roadways.

The results from the first two waves of Road Shark exhibited the dedication our Officers and Troopers have towards educating the community, enforcing traffic laws, and ensuring that the roadways are safer within Fairfax County. Wave three of Road Shark was no exception.

During wave three, officers along with our Virginia State Police partners issued over 5,800 citations and warnings.

Our officers remain hyper-focused on enforcing traffic laws and ensuring the safety of all drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists on our roadways.

Wave four of Road Shark will begin on July 31.
