FCPD’s ‘Safe July’ Initiative Yields Great Results
Fairfax, VA – Throughout July, FCPD officers participating in the Summer Crime Prevention Initiative hit the streets and took over 30 impaired drivers off the roadways of Fairfax County. Their incredible efforts also brought over 600 traffic charges to offenders displaying unsafe driving behavior, putting our community at risk on our roads.

This year, the beginning of July marked the start of the latest iteration of FCPD’s Summer Crime Prevention Initiative. July’s focus was taking impaired drivers off our roads and encouraging safe driving behaviors. The department deployed officers from all eight district stations and teamed up with our DWI Enforcement Squad to achieve this goal. Crime analysts identified areas of concern and informed the deployment of these officers to specific locations across the county to prevent, deter, and take impaired drivers off the road.
