Suspect Arrested by Prince George’s County PD after Armed Robbery in Hybla Valley
Mount Vernon Police District – Prince George’s County Police Department arrest regional robbery suspect.
On August 16 at 5:38 p.m., officers responded to the Downtown Locker Room at 7656 Richmond Highway, in Hybla Valley for an armed commercial robbery.
Two men entered the store and requested to see several pairs of shoes. When the employee returned, the suspects displayed a firearm, took the shoes and demanded cash. The suspects fled the business in a black sports utility vehicle.
Officers gathered additional details and shared it with our regional partners. Officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department located the suspect’s vehicle and took the driver, Derek Lynn Davis, 34, of Maryland into custody. The second suspect was not in the vehicle. FCPD detectives charged Davis with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The second suspect was described as a black man with a ski mask. Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have information about this case or other similar cases.
