Mount Vernon District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have arrested a man after he robbed a bank in Hybla Valley.
On November 4, at 12:48 p.m., officers responded to a bank robbery in the 7700 block of Richmond Highway. A man entered the bank and presented a teller with a note demanding money. While no weapon was displayed, the note threatened to harm the teller if they did not comply. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the scene before police arrival. There were no injuries. Later that evening, at 7:40 p.m., Dave Jobson, 65, of Alexandria, contacted the Department of Public Safety Communications and admitted to robbing the bank. Jobson provided his location and expressed his desire to turn himself in. Detectives responded to Jobson’s residence and took him into custody without incident.
Jobson was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Jobson was held without bond.
