Barricade in McLean Ends After 5-Hour Standoff
McLean Police District – A man was safely taken into custody following a 5-hour barricade that ended around 2:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon in a Merrifield neighborhood.
On Thursday around 8:40 a.m., officers from the McLean Police District were called to the 9000 block of Piney Grove in Merrifield for the report of a man who exposed himself to a group of children at a bus stop and was acting erratic. Officers responded and tried to make contact with the man.
To ensure the safety of our community, portions of the roadway in the Piney Grove Road area were closed. Officers from our Special Operations Division, Crisis Negotiations Team, and our Crisis Response Team, responded in an effort to resolve the situation.

One of our officers fluent in Farsi was able to persuade the man to exit the home. Thanks to the dedication of our officers, clinicians, and negotiators, the man was safely taken into custody around 2:30 p.m. The man, Farhang Obohhat, 66, of Merrifield, is currently receiving services.
Warrants were obtained for four counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor and will be served when he is booked into the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
