Two Teenagers Charged in Kingstowne Center Shooting

Franconia District Police – Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau, Criminal Investigations Division have made significant progress in a recent shooting in the Kingstowne Shopping Center by successfully arresting two seventeen-year-olds.

On September 22 at 9:34 p.m., officers responded to the 5900 block of Kingstowne Towne Center for the report of the sound of gunshots. Officers eventually located multiple cartridge casings in the area. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division were assigned to the investigation. It was determined multiple juveniles were gathered in the area when the gunshots occurred. There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire.

The efforts of our detectives, coupled with an extensive investigation, led to the discovery of crucial evidence including video footage, and physical evidence. By utilizing these invaluable pieces of information, our detectives were able to pinpoint the whereabouts of the two teenagers, ultimately leading to a search warrant for the 7600 block of Oakridge Woods Court, in Lorton.

During the search warrant, two firearms, were recovered at the residence.  No injuries were reported during the shooting. Both teenagers have been taken into custody and transported to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.
