UPDATE: Community Tip Leads to Arrest of Suspect

Reston and Fair Oaks Police District-Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division have charged a man for Possession of Burglarious Tools and Petit Larceny in connection with a series of larcenies in Fairfax County.

Between October 3-4, the Reston and Fair Oaks Police District had a series of vehicle break-ins and package thefts.

Following a tip from a community member submitted to our Reston District Crime Prevention officer, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Ajohnny Jordan, 20, of Herndon. Jordan was charged with two charges of Petit larceny and two charges of Possession of Burglarious tools. He was arrested last Friday and is being held at the Adult Detention Center on no bond.

Reston and Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau, Criminal Investigations Division, are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins and package thefts that occurred between October 3-4.

The suspect is believed to be responsible for breaking into several vehicles and stealing items during the late-night hours in both the Fair Oaks and Reston police districts. Detectives believe the man has also stolen several packages from doorsteps.

Detectives obtained surveillance of the suspect pictured below. The suspect is described as a black man, 18-25 years old, wearing a black puffer jacket, black pants, and black and white shoes. He is believed to be traveling on the orange bicycle pictured below.
