Over $130K in Stolen Goods Recovered Throughout the Holiday Season in Springfield
Franconia Police District – Springfield’s Christmas Anti-Theft Team (CATT) was back in action this holiday season and recovered over $100,000 worth of stolen merchandise.
Every holiday season, both undercover and uniformed officers from CATT hit area malls looking for thieves and addressing criminal activity. In 2023, our Springfield CATT recovered an impressive $131,902.05 in stolen property. Additionally, these sergeants and officers from the Franconia and West Springfield Police Stations uncovered a nationwide gift card fraud scheme. These officers diligently worked to identify and criminally charge individuals involved, including addressing organized retail theft crews.
