Shots Fired in Annandale Apartment Leaves One Injured
Mason Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are investigating a non-fatal shooting that took place Tuesday in Annandale.
On Tuesday, at 12:50 p.m., officers responded to the 4200 block of Wadsworth Court in Annandale for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered that an apartment well-known to area officers was connected to the shooting.
Around 1:05 p.m., a local hospital reported an adult female walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body. She was treated at the hospital for injuries not considered to be life-threatening. Preliminarily, detectives determined that a friend who was with the victim at the time of the shooting drove the victim to the hospital and remained with her until officers arrived. They continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The shooting does not appear to be a random act.
Additionally, detectives determined that the suspect, accompanied by two other subjects, was briefly allowed into the apartment before discharging shots. The suspect and his associates fled the scene prior to police arrival. The suspect was described as a black male.
