Fairfax County Chief Davis Announces Major Promotion

Fairfax County, VA — The Fairfax Police Department (FCPD) is proud to announce the promotion of Patrick Brusch to the rank of Major.

A brief biography of Major Brusch can be found below:
Patrick Brusch has been promoted to Major of the Major Crimes Bureau. In May 2020, Brusch was promoted to Captain where he served in the Organized Crime and Narcotics Bureau, Major Crimes Bureau, Violent Crimes Division, and Commander of the Mason District Station. Hired by the FCPD in February 2004, Major Brusch first served in a patrol capacity at the Franconia District Station. As an officer, he also served on the Franconia Neighborhood Patrol Unit before being selected as a detective with the Organized Crime and Narcotic Division. As a narcotics detective, Major Brusch worked in an undercover capacity for over four years, partnering with local and federal agencies to combat drug trafficking throughout the National Capital Region. In May 2014, Major Brusch joined the supervisory ranks of the FCPD, where he has had assignments at Franconia District Station, Sully – Neighborhood Patrol, Internal Affairs, Mason – Neighborhood Patrol and Major Crimes Bureau-Child Exploitation.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Major Brusch is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and obtained a graduate degree in Computer Forensics from George Washington University.
