Sticky Handed Thief Gets Stuck in Police’s Quick Response

Franconia Police District—Officers from the Franconia District Station arrested a man responsible for breaking into multiple cars in Lorton.

Yesterday morning, around 4 a.m., officers responded to a report of a man actively breaking into cars near the intersection of Bellwether Court and Shepherd Hills Drive in Lorton. When they arrived, officers discovered a vehicle with a broken window. During a search of the area, officers found Dwayne Anderson Jr., 23, of Lorton hiding inside a car with stolen property in his possession. A canvass of the area revealed multiple cars had been broken into by Anderson Jr.

Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division determined Anderson Jr. is responsible for multiple previous car break-ins in the Lorton area as well as a stolen vehicle in the West Springfield District. He was arrested and transported to Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with four counts of Vehicle Trespass, four counts of Destruction of Property, Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny, and False Identification to Police. Additionally, Anderson had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear in court on felony charges. He was held with no bond. Additional charges are pending further investigation.
