Mason District Wraps Up Month-Long Initiative on Wadsworth Court
Mason Police District – In response to community sentiment, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) launched a crime suppression initiative centered on the Wadsworth Court area. With the goal of boosting neighborhood safety, this proactive measure shows our residents we are committed to ensuring safety in all our communities.
The initiative, spearheaded by our Mason Police District, began on January 3, 2024 and concluded on February 3, 2024, with significant and positive outcomes. Officers and detectives charged 85 people in relation to drug possession, drug distribution, trespassing, and other felonies and misdemeanors in the area, brining 48 felony charges and 99 misdemeanor charges.

In addition to the arrests and charges, officers successfully removed dangerous drugs and contraband believed to be from drug-related activities from our community.

Commanders from the Mason Police District brought resources together from throughout the department for this initiative. This included other district station’s Neighborhood Patrol Units, our Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit, detectives from our Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau, and more.
The success of this initiative is largely due to the strong partnership between FCPD and the Wadsworth Court community. By actively addressing the concerns raised by residents, the department remains dedicated to fostering a sense of security and well-being for everyone in the area. Together, we can continue to build a safer and more resilient community for all.
