Barricaded Suspect In Custody After Over 7 Hours of Negotiations
McLean Police District — A wanted man is in custody after he abducted and assaulted a victim and then barricaded himself inside his home for more than seven hours.
Yesterday, at 2:42 p.m., officers were approached by the victim who reported she was just assaulted by a known suspect. The man was inside a home in the 6700 block of Chestnut Ave in Mosby. The victim sustained injuries considered non-life threatening and was treated at the hospital.

Officers initially attempted to have the suspect, Silvio Meza Jr., 33, exit the residence, but he refused. Officers learned Meza may have been armed with a rifle. After Meza continued to refuse the officer’s directions, officers from our Special Operations Division, Crisis Negotiations Team, and our Crisis Response Team responded to assist with the barricade.
After over seven hours of negotiations, Meza safely surrendered around 9:45 p.m. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with Assault, Strangulation, Abduction, Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon. He was also served an outstanding warrant for Fail to Appear in court on Possession of a Schedule I/II narcotic charge. He is being held on no bond.
