FCPS Teacher Charged with Assault

West Springfield Police District –Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Child Abuse Squad arrested a White Oaks Elementary special education teacher for assaulting multiple students.

On April 12, Child Protective Services received a referral that a teacher was seen assaulting a student at school. Detectives were notified and assumed the investigation. Detectives determined that between September 2023 and April 2024, Elizabeth Yoshimi Nagagata, 62, of Fairfax assaulted three students on separate occasions.

On June 21, Nagagata was arrested and charged with seven counts of Simple Assault. Nagagata is currently being held at the Adult Detention Center without bond.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have information about this case or others possibly related.
