Detectives Investigate Single-Vehicle Fatal Crash in Reston

Reston Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Reston.

Yesterday around 9:40 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Baron Cameron Avenue and Fairfax County Parkway in Reston for a single-vehicle crash.

Preliminarily, detectives determined that the driver of a 2015 Porsche 911 was taking the exit from northbound Fairfax County Parkway onto Baron Cameron Avenue when their vehicle travelled across multiple traffic lanes and struck the underpass wall. The driver, Marjorie Fox, 77, of Reston, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Sadly, Fox was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Preliminarily, speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.  Detectives are investigating whether a possible medical emergency may have contributed to the crash.
