Steering Fairfax County Toward Safer Roads: Wave 4 Road Shark Results
Fairfax County, VA – The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) has successfully wrapped up the fourth wave of our “Road Shark” traffic safety campaign. Working with the Virginia State Police, our officers issued over 7,000 citations and warnings between August 5 and August 11, targeting reckless driving and other dangerous behaviors in traffic-heavy areas.

So far in 2024, our Road Shark traffic safety campaign has resulted in over 27,800 citations and warnings. With an additional 5th wave planned later this year, we’re ramping up our commitment to making Fairfax County’s roads safer.

Educating and Enforcing for Safer Roads
Road Shark is not just about issuing tickets; it is about fostering a safe driving culture. Throughout the campaign, our officers have engaged directly with drivers to emphasize the dangers of distracted driving and the importance of following speed limits.
Wave five of Road Shark will begin on October 14th.
