Detectives Investigate Inmate’s Death at the Adult Detention Center
Fairfax County, VA – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are conducting a death investigation of an inmate at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center (ADC).
On September 21, around 10:22 p.m. John Boos, 37, was found unresponsive in his single cell at the ADC. Deputies immediately began performing life-saving measures. Fire and Rescue personnel responded and transported Boos to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy. Preliminarily, foul play is not suspected.
Boos had been in the custody of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office since August 30, 2024.
