Update: Teen Charged in November Fatal Crash in Oakton
Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit have charged a teen driver from the November 9th fatal crash in Oakton.
On November 9th, officers responded to the intersection of Hunter Mill Road and Lynnhaven Place in Oakton for a fatal crash involving a Toyota Camry and an Acura.
Through the investigation, detectives determined the 17-year-old driver of the Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Hunter Mill Road at a high rate of speed when he struck an Acura in the intersection.
On December 12, the teenager turned himself in and was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless Driving. He was held at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.

Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred in Oakton.
Yesterday at 11:20 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Hunter Mill Road and Lynnhaven Place in Oakton for a two-vehicle crash.
Officers determined the driver of a 2001 Acura coupe was traveling southbound on Hunter Mill Road and attempted to make a left turn into a shopping center at Lynnhaven Place. The driver of a 2024 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Hunter Mill Road when the driver struck the Acura in the intersection.
The driver of the Acura was transported with injuries considered non-life threatening to the hospital. The passenger of the Acura, an adult woman, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the Toyota were not injured.
Sadly, the passenger of the Acura, Brenda Cratty, 77, of Vienna, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Preliminarily, speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
