Unsolved Since 2000: Cold Case Detectives Seek Leads in Woodlawn Homicide
Fairfax County, VA—Detectives from our Cold Case Squad are seeking the community’s assistance in solving a 24-year-old murder case in Woodlawn.
On April 22, 2000, officers responded to the Super 7 convenience store in the 8700 block of Richmond Highway in Woodlawn for a report of a dead person. The complainant reported observing an adult man deceased on the floor upon entering the store. Officers located the victim inside the business and identified him as Surinder “Paul” Sharma, 43, of Hybla Valley.
An autopsy revealed that Sharma was stabbed multiple times in the upper body. In the years that followed his murder, detectives from the Cold Case Squad continued their efforts to meticulously review the evidence to identify a suspect.
