UPDATE: Detectives Arrest a Second Student for Possessing a Firearm

Franconia Police District – Detectives from our Threat Assessment and Management Unit (TAM) have arrested an additional student involved in yesterday’s incident at Edison High School

Yesterday, an SRO at Edison High School safely located and arrested a 16-year-old student who was in possession of a handgun.

After a comprehensive investigation by our TAM Unit, detectives identified a 17-year-old student who had previously shared possession of the same handgun and took him into custody.

The teenager was charged with Possession of a Firearm on School Property and Brandishing of a Firearm on School Property. He is currently being held at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.

There will be an increased presence of officers as the investigation continues at the school.
