Scent Trail Ends in Arrests After $32K Organized Candle Theft Spree
Fairfax County, VA –Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division have charged three suspects from Washington, D.C. for their involvement in a series of organized retail thefts targeting candles in Kingstowne and Fair Oaks.
On February 2 at 1:02 p.m., officers responded to the 5800 block of Kingstowne Center in Kingstowne for a grand larceny case. The complainant reported that three suspects entered the business and stole merchandise. The suspects fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.
Following this incident, additional similar thefts were reported, revealing a clear pattern of organized retail theft. Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation, ultimately linking the suspects to multiple coordinated thefts.

On May 29, detectives from our Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Team, with assistance from the United States Marshals, arrested three suspects in Washington, D.C., for their roles in this series of organized retail thefts.
Delontae Shaw, 34, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with ten counts of Grand Larceny and ten counts of Larceny with Intent to Sell. He is being held at the Washington D.C. Central Detention Facility and is awaiting extradition back to Fairfax County. No mugshot is available at this time.

Sincere Stewart, 25, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with four counts of Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. She is being held at the Washington D.C. Central Detention Facility and is awaiting extradition back to Fairfax County.

Devon Owens, 28, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with five counts of Grand Larceny and five counts of Larceny with Intent to Sell. He is being held at the Washington D.C. Central Detention Facility and is awaiting extradition back to Fairfax County.
