UPDATE: Maryland Man Arrested for Vehicle Break-Ins and Larcenies in McLean

McLean Police District – Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division, with the assistance of our Fugitive Track and Apprehension Unit, have arrested a Maryland man responsible for multiple vehicle break-ins and larcenies in McLean.

On January 5, at 5:40 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Westbranch Drive and Westpark Drive in McLean for a destruction of property report. While investigating the initial report, officers discovered additional vehicles in the area that were broken into. Some of the vehicles had items stolen from them. Additional break-ins occurred on nearby streets around Westbranch Drive and Westpark Drive. Detectives were assigned to investigate.

Through their investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Marcus Robinson, 34, of Maryland.

Yesterday, the Maryland State Police located Robinson at his residence in Maryland and took him into custody after executing a search warrant. He is being held at Prince George’s County Jail awaiting extradition back to Fairfax County where he will be charged with three counts of Felony Credit Card Theft, three counts of Credit Card Fraud, and three counts of Destruction of Property.

Detectives Seek Suspect Responsible for Vehicle Break-Ins and Larcenies

Fairfax County, VA – Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division are seeking the community’s help in identifying a suspect responsible for multiple vehicle break-ins and larcenies in McLean.

On January 5, at 5:40 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Westbranch Drive and Westpark Drive in McLean for a destruction of property report. While investigating the initial report, officers discovered additional vehicles in the area had been broken into. Some of the vehicles had items stolen. Additional break-ins occurred on nearby streets in the area of Westbranch Drive and Westpark Drive. Detectives were assigned to investigate.

Since January, there have been similar incidents reported in the surrounding area. Through their investigation, detectives believe the same suspect is responsible for the below incidents:

Below are photos of the suspect. Detectives determined the suspect used stolen credit cards at a convenience store on February 9 and April 6 in the 7500 block of Leesburg Pike in Idylwood.
