Child Exploitation Unit Arrests Ashburn Man in Online Solicitation Case
Fairfax County, VA – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau Child Exploitation Unit have arrested a man who attempted to engage in illegal sexual activity with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old minor.
In July of this year, an undercover detective, posing as a minor online, was contacted by David Mark Sabin, 38, of Ashburn. During their online conversations, Sabin initiated inappropriate conversations and planned to travel to Fairfax County to engage in unlawful sexual acts with the minor.
Through their investigation, detectives connected Sabin with another online solicitation case in October of 2024 where he engaged with a detective, posing as an online minor.
On August 11, detectives obtained a search warrant for Sabin’s home in Loudoun County, VA. With the assistance of the Virginia State Police and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the search warrant was executed, and Sabin was taken into custody without incident.

Sabin was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with four counts of Solicitation of a Minor, two counts of Production of CSAM, Attempted Aggravated Sexual Battery, Attempted Object Sexual Penetration, Attempted Sodomy, and Attempted Indecent Liberties. He is being held on no bond.
Sabin taught at the Oak Hill Christian School located in McNair. His employment has since been terminated. Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who believes they, or their children, may have had inappropriate contact with Sabin.
