Alexandria Man Arrested After Carjacking in Groveton

Mount Vernon Police District— Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have charged a 34-year-old man with carjacking in Groveton.

On August 25, at 11:05 a.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Lockheed Boulevard in Groveton for a Carjacking. The victim reported that while making a delivery he was assaulted by a suspect who then entered his vehicle and drove off. With assistance from the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), Virginia State Police located the vehicle in the City of Alexandria and took the suspect, David Lewis, 34, of Alexandria into custody following a traffic stop.

Lewis was transported to Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with Carjacking. Lewis was also served an outstanding warrant for Probation Violation. He was held on no bond.
