Suspect Arrested for Brandishing Gun in a Groveton Store
Mount Vernon Police District— Officers from the Mount Vernon Police District have arrested a man for brandishing a firearm inside a store in Groveton.
On September 12, at 1:00 p.m., officers responded to the 6300 block of Richmond Highway in Groveton for a brandishing call. The complainant stated that a suspect brandished a firearm while inside the store then fled the scene.
Through their investigation, officers located and identified Dorian Claytor Jr, 30, of Alexandria and took him into custody. During the investigation, officers located the firearm which had been hidden in an aisle where Claytor had been seen in the store.

Claytor was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detection Center and charged with Brandishing of a Firearm and Felon in Possession of Firearm. He was held on a $3,000 bond.
This case is part of Fairfax County Police’s Operation Press Check, an initiative aimed at reducing illegal firearm possession by convicted felons to improve public safety.
