West Springfield NPU and Detectives Team Up to Arrest Wanted Man

West Springfield Police District – A wanted man known for breaking into vehicles and stealing credit cards was arrested this week after officers discovered he had more than 20 outstanding warrants.

On October 21, shortly after 4:00 p.m., officers from the West Springfield District Station’s Neighborhood Patrol Unit (NPU) received a tip about a man with multiple arrest warrants possibly in the 7600 block of Tiverton Drive in Springfield.

NPU officers coordinated with detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and confirmed that Solomon Reed, 30, of no fixed address, was actively being investigated and had 21 active warrants from our agency related to credit card theft, identity theft, narcotics possession, vehicle tampering, and hit-and-run cases.

Through their investigation, detectives determined that Reed was responsible for breaking into vehicles and stealing credit cards from victims, which he then used for fraudulent purchases.

NPU officers quickly located Reed and safely took him into custody. He was found in possession of suspected narcotics and stolen credit cards at the time of his arrest.

Reed was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was served with 25 total warrants, including two counts of Possession of a Schedule I or II Narcotic and two counts of Credit Card Theft. He was held without bond.
