Detectives Investigating Overdose Death Near Bailey’s Crossroads
Mason Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau and Overdose Investigation Unit are investigating a suspected fatal overdose of a man that occurred near Bailey’s Crossroads.
On October 26 at 2:42 p.m., officers responded to the 5900 block of Seminary Road near Bailey’s Crossroads for a malicious wounding. Responding officers encountered the suspect involved in the malicious wounding, a 27-year-old adult male, officers detained the suspect during their investigation and placed him into handcuffs. The officers then noticed the suspect exhibiting signs of possible narcotics use and foaming at the mouth. Officers immediately administered Narcan. There was no force used during the arrest.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel were requested to the scene. The man, who was initially conscious and responsive upon their arrival, became unresponsive shortly thereafter. Fire and Rescue personnel administered Narcan and he was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition. While at the hospital, the man was pronounced deceased. The victim of the malicious wounding, an adult male, was also transported to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
