Detectives Continue to Search for Wanted Homicide Suspect
Mason Police District– Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau continue to seek the community’s help in locating Javon Reid, who is wanted for a murder that occurred on May 7, 2023.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident or Reid’s whereabouts to call our Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2. Mason Police District – Javon Antonio Reid, 32, of Maryland has been identified as the shooter from the May 7 shooting that left one man dead and another hospitalized.
Last Sunday at 2:19 a.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of South George Mason Drive, Falls Church for two adult males that had been shot in the upper body. Maurice Anderson, 24, of Washington D.C. was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The second adult man was also transported to a local hospital where he received treatment and remains hospitalized.
Reid left the scene prior to police arrival. Through surveillance footage and interviews, detectives identified and charged Reid with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Detectives from our Fugitive Track and Apprehension Unit are actively seeking Reid’s whereabouts.
