The Continuation of Excellence: FCPD’s “Option 5” Graduation

Fairfax County, VA – After completing six weeks of training, ten experienced officers have graduated Option 5 and will be starting their assignments in Fairfax County and around the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Our four graduates bring a wide range of experience, education, and military service to the Fairfax County Police Department. Their diverse backgrounds from the Hamden Police Department, Metro Transit Police Department, New York Police Department (NYPD), and Orange County Sheriff’s Office reflect the department’s commitment to recruiting highly trained and dedicated professionals.

The Option 5 Lateral Academy streamlines the transition for experienced officers, ensuring they are equipped with the latest training, technology, and community-focused practices. As they begin their new assignments, these officers will enhance FCPD’s mission to provide superior police service and strengthen public safety throughout Fairfax County.
