Man Arrested for Indecent Liberties by Custodian in Fairfax County

Fairfax County, VA – Detectives from our Child Abuse Squad have arrested a 62-year-old man after he had an inappropriate relationship with a minor.

On November 23, officers responded to the West Springfield District Station for a sex offense report. The victim reported that she was subjected to inappropriate conduct by a 62-year-old man when she was a minor. Detectives were notified and assumed the investigation.

Through their investigation, detectives determined that Tony Adams, 62, of Lorton, engaged in unlawful and inappropriate contact as a private tennis coach with the victim while she was underage.

In addition to his private tennis lessons, Adams also worked as an assistant tennis coach at West Springfield High School from 2015 to 2016 and as a tennis coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School in 2018. He also supported the tennis program at West Springfield in 2022, but not as a coach.

On November 24, detectives located Adams in Fairfax County and took him into custody. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with four counts of Indecent Liberties by Custodian. He was held on no bond.

Victim specialists from our Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that the victim is receiving appropriate resources and assistance.
