Man Arrested for Attempted Bank Robbery in Fair Lakes 

Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have arrested a man after he attempted to rob a bank in Fair Lakes.

Yesterday, at 10:01 a.m., officers responded to an attempted bank robbery in the 12900 block of Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fair Lakes. A man entered the bank and displayed a note to the teller demanding money. No weapon was displayed. The man was asked to leave and he left on foot. No one was injured.

As officers arrived on scene, Nicholas Rodriguez, 38, of Fairfax approached officers and identified himself as the robber. Rodriguez was taken into custody. Detectives responded to assume the investigation.

Rodriguez was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with Attempted Robbery. He was held on a $1,000 bond.
