Man Faces 25 Charges Following Vehicle Break-Ins in Lorton

Franconia Police District – Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division, with the assistance of our Gang Investigations Unit, have arrested a man now facing 25 charges following an investigation into a series of vehicle break-ins and larcenies in Lorton.

On November 1, officers responded to the 9600 block of Franklin Woods Place in Lorton for multiple reports of vehicle tampering and thefts. On November 16, officers responded to the 9600 block of Potters Hill Circle for similar incidents. Those incidents involved multiple vehicles damaged and items stolen from inside.

Detectives were assigned to investigate these cases. Through their investigation, a suspect was developed. Using surveillance footage and other investigative tools, detectives identified Dwayne Anderson, 25, of no fixed address, as the suspect.

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified additional incidents connected to Anderson that occurred on November 27 at several locations throughout Lorton. The chart below outlines the locations and associated offenses.

With the assistance of our Gang Investigations Unit, Anderson was arrested on December 10 in the 10600 block of Main Street in Fairfax. Anderson was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with 11 counts of Destruction of Property, six counts of Vehicle Tampering, three counts of Petit Larceny, two counts of Grand Larceny, two counts of Credit Card Theft, and one count of Possession of Stolen Property with Intent to Sell. He is being held on a $9,000 secured bond.
