Maryland Man Arrested for Attempted Burglaries in McLean
McLean Police District— Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division have charged a Maryland man for his involvement in multiple attempted burglaries in McLean.
On December 5, at 8:46 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Chain Bridge Road in McLean for a larceny report. Home surveillance footage showed a suspect stealing a bag from the victim’s vehicle in the garage and attempting to enter their residence four days earlier. Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation.
On December 9, at 10:32 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Horse Shoe Drive in Tysons for a trespassing. An unknown man was in the victim’s backyard and fled once her flood light was activated. Officers saturated the area and observed a suspect matching the description board a nearby bus. Once the bus stopped and the suspect exited, officers arrested Brad Edmonds, 52, of Maryland.
Through their investigation, detectives connected Edmonds to the attempted burglary reported on December 5 in McLean and an additional attempted burglary that occurred on December 5 in the 1200 Block of Crest Lane in McLean.

Edmonds was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with two counts of Attempted Burglary, two counts of Wearing a Mask in Public, Unlawful Entry into Vehicle, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Petit Larceny, and Trespassing. He was held on no bond.
