Victim Services Division Hosts 3rd Annual Breakfast with Santa, Bringing Holiday Joy to Fairfax County Families

Fairfax County, VA— The Victim Services Division of the Fairfax County Police Department proudly hosted its 3rd Annual Breakfast with Santa over the weekend, welcoming more than 75 children, along with their parents, grandparents, and guardians.

Thanks to the continued generosity of Dave & Buster’s, which provided both the space and support for the event, families enjoyed a few joyful hours away from the challenges many have faced throughout the year. For children and families who have experienced significant trauma, the morning offered a chance for the kids to simply be kids again – surrounded by kindness, fun, and holiday magic.

Children enjoyed a warm breakfast, spent time visiting with Santa, played unlimited games, and left with a winter hat, winter coat, and a toy of their choosing. The smiles, laughter, and excitement throughout the event served as a powerful reminder of the impact compassion and community partnership can have, especially during the holiday season.

Events like Breakfast with Santa remind us of the power of compassion and community,” said Victim Services Division Director Saly Fayez. “For families who have experienced trauma, moments of joy, safety, and connection can be incredibly meaningful. We are deeply grateful to our community partners and volunteers whose generosity ensured every child felt seen, supported, and cared for this holiday season.”

This special day would not have been possible without the extraordinary support of our community. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the many individuals and organizations whose generosity and dedication made the event unforgettable, including:

  • Our generous gift card donors, whose contributions enabled us to provide gift cards to over 50 families—supporting more than 150 children—and helping to ease financial stress during the holiday season.
  • Fairfax County Police Academy recruits and our dedicated cadets, who generously volunteered their time and energy to support families throughout the event.
  • Our detectives and professional staff, whose compassion, commitment, and hands-on involvement ensured the event was meaningful and memorable for every family.
  • Two generous supporters, whose extraordinary generosity included donating brand-new winter coats and hand-crocheting winter hats for more than 100 children, providing warmth, comfort, and care throughout the season.
  • Our county and community partners, for their continued friendship, collaboration, and support.
  • The members of our Motors Squad, whose kindness and generosity supplied new toys that brought excitement and joy to every child.
  • The Dave & Buster’s General Manager, whose continued partnership and leadership made this our third successful holiday event at this location.

These moments reinforce the Fairfax County Police Department’s commitment to supporting those in need and remind us that—even in the face of hardship—hope, compassion, and community continue to prevail. Because of this generosity, no child on our Victim Services Division caseload was overlooked.
