Man Faces 32 Charges Following Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins
Reston Police District – Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division, with the assistance of our Auto Crime Enforcement Unit, have arrested a man now facing 32 charges following an investigation into a series of vehicle break-ins and larcenies in Fairfax County.

On May 31 officers responded to the 13600 block of Dulles Technology Dr, McNair for a report of vehicle tampering and theft. Detectives were assigned to investigate the case.
Through their investigation, a suspect was developed. Using surveillance footage and other investigative tools, detectives identified Tyrell Ewings, 30, of Washington D.C., as the suspect.
As the investigation progressed, detectives identified additional incidents connected to Ewings that occurred between May 31 and November 22 at several locations throughout Fairfax County. The chart below outlines the locations and associated offenses.

On December 16, Ewings was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) for similar charges. On December 21 he was extradited to Fairfax County and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with 10 counts of Vehicle Trespass, 7 counts of Credit Card Fraud, 4 counts of Card Larceny, 3 counts of ID Theft, 3 counts of Larceny by False Pretense, 2 counts of Attempted Vehicle Trespass, 2 counts of Petit Larceny, and Grand Larceny. He is being held on no bond.
