Women Arrested Within Hour After Bailey’s Crossroads Carjacking
Mason Police District— Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have arrested a woman after she carjacked a victim in Bailey’s Crossroads.
On February 12, at 1:59 a.m., officers responded to the 5900 block of Seminary Road in Bailey’s Crossroads for a carjacking. The victim reported that a woman approached his vehicle and asked for a ride. When the victim refused, the suspect opened the door and pulled the victim out of the vehicle. The suspect then fled in the victim’s vehicle.
Our Fairfax 1 helicopter, Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), and additional patrol units responded to assist with the search, and a lookout was broadcast to neighboring jurisdictions.
At 2:49 a.m., Arlington County police officers located the vehicle in their jurisdiction and took the suspect into custody. Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau responded and identified Peggy Li’Nae Sykes, 28, of Arlington as the carjacking suspect.

Sykes was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with Carjacking. She was held on no bond.
