UPDATE: Driver Charged in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Annandale
Franconia Police District —Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit have charged the driver from the February 28 fatal pedestrian crash in Annandale with Failure to Stop for Pedestrians.
Detectives determined that Lucas Lese, 20, of Springfield, was traveling westbound on John Marr Drive toward Ravensworth Road in a 2012 BMW. The pedestrian, Sun Hyo Kim, 56, of Annandale, was crossing John Marr Drive from the south side to the north side when she was struck by the BMW. Kim was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition and later pronounced deceased. Lese was uninjured and remained on scene.
Lese was charged with Failure to Stop for Pedestrians and served a summons releasable warrant.

Franconia Police District– Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Annandale.
On February 28 at 5:37 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on John Marr Drive between Backlick Road and Ravensworth Road in Annandale.
Officers determined that the driver of a 2012 BMW was traveling westbound on John Marr Drive toward Ravensworth Road. The pedestrian, Sun Hyo Kim, 56, of Annandale, was crossing John Marr Drive from the south side to the north side when she was struck by the BMW.
Kim was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition and later pronounced deceased. The driver of the BMW was uninjured and remained on scene.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Speed remains under investigation.
