Swift Coordination Leads to Quick Arrests in Bailey’s Crossroads Non-Fatal Shooting

Mason Police District –Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have charged four suspects in connection with an assault and non-fatal shooting that occurred in Bailey’s Crossroads.

On March 19, at 3:09 p.m., officers responded to the 5500 block of Seminary Road in Bailey’s Crossroads for a reported shooting. Officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim was transported in non-life-threatening condition to a local hospital.  One additional adult male victim was located who had been assaulted by a suspect and was also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminarily, detectives learned the two victims were approached by multiple suspects, which led to a verbal dispute. The suspects then assaulted both victims, during which one suspect produced a firearm and shot one of them. The suspects then fled in a white Mercedes sedan and a black Toyota sedan.

With the assistance of our Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), our Fairfax 1 helicopter, and the Virginia State Police, the white Mercedes was quickly located on I-495. A traffic stop was conducted and Jaihoon Gard, 19, of Alexandria and Kawsar Sarwari, 24, Centreville were taken into custody.
