Man Charged with Two Restaurant Burglaries in McLean

McLean Police District– Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division have charged a man responsible for two commercial burglaries in McLean.

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 1:17 p.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary at the Pupatella Pizza located at 2980 District Avenue in Merrifield.  An unknown suspect forced entry into the business through the rear door and stole alcohol.

On March 1, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary at the Churasuko Japanese Brazilian Steakhouse located at 1755 Tysons Central Street in Tysons.  An unknown suspect entered the restaurant through an unsecured door and stole cash from the register.

Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division responded to both incidents to assume the investigation. Through their investigation, officers were able to obtain commercial surveillance footage of the suspect and identified the vehicle being used. On March 13, through the use of license plate read technology, detectives identified Sinqway Hawkins, 27, of Washington, DC, as the man responsible for both burglaries.

On March 17, with assistance from our Fugitive Tracking & Apprehension Unit, Hawkins was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with two counts of Burglary and Larceny and released after posting a $5,000 secured bond.
