Sully District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred yesterday evening in Fairfax Station.
On July 23 at 7:13 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Ox Road and Chapel Road for a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.
Preliminarily, CRU detectives determined Jennifer Hollingsworth, 39, of Fredericksburg, was operating a 2025 Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle northbound on Ox Road when she struck a 2021 Buick Enclave that was making a left turn from southbound Ox Road onto eastbound Chapel Road. Hollingsworth was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the Buick was uninjured and remained on scene.
Preliminary, alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash for the driver of the Buick. Speed and alcohol for the rider of the motorcycle remain under investigation. CRU Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure the victims’ families are receiving appropriate resources and assistance.
