Fairfax County, VA – Last night, over 140 neighborhoods across Fairfax County celebrated National Night Out. From block parties and cookouts to games, music, and family-friendly activities, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) joined thousands of residents for an evening focused on building connections, promoting public safety, and bringing neighbors together.
Held each year on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a nationwide campaign that strengthens partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The annual event allows residents to meet officers who patrol their neighborhoods in a relaxed setting that encourages conversations that build trust year-round.
Throughout the evening, FCPD officers visited events across the county, joining residents in the fun while creating meaningful connections. Officers took turns in dunk tanks, kicked soccer balls with kids, posed for photos, shared meals, and answered questions from families and neighbors. Whether reconnecting with longtime residents or meeting new faces, the evening highlighted the strong partnerships that make Fairfax County a safer place to live, work, and visit.
