Police were notified of a bear sighting in the Greenbriar subdivision last weekend, in the Birch Pond community, near Rocky Run Stream Valley Park. Recently, a bear was also reported to have damaged the beehive at nearby Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Bears typically avoid humans, but may wander into suburban areas in their search for food.
