Shoplifting Suspects Face Numerous Charges After Incident at Shopping Mall
Two Washington, DC women are facing charges of assault on law enforcement officers and larceny after an incident at Tyson’s Corner Shopping Center on Thursday, May 21.
Plain clothes officers assigned to the Tysons Urban Team and shopping center observed suspects shoplifting from stores in the mall at around 2 p.m.; allegedly taking items and placing them in bags and leaving the stores. When approached by officers, both suspects resisted arrest. They kicked, bit, and spit at officers; a total of five officers were injured. Eventually, the women were safely subdued, charged, and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Neither of the suspects was injured. More than $12,000 in merchandise, mostly make up and high-end lingerie, was recovered at the scene.
Bianca Keyani Jackson, 23 and Kenya Crawley, 24 were charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, grand larceny, and larceny with intent to sell.
The Tysons Urban Team was established in 2013 and is comprised of nine officers, a second lieutenant and a sergeant. The officers supplement the McLean District Station and patrol Tysons Corner shopping areas and the Metro.
