Neighborhood Rabies Canvass Underway; Animal Control Officers Help Educate Residents

Animal Control Officers will be handing out rabies information pamphlets to residents in the Rose Hill area after a dog was bitten by a rabid fox in the 4400 block of Upland Drive last week. Fortunately, the dog was vaccinated and there were no other known exposures to the fox. So far, in 2015 there have been 20 positive rabies

FCPD joined Virginia State Police in educating motorists about Virginia’s “Move Over” law with an enforcement and education blitz on Friday morning, May 29. Officers and troopers patrolled heavily traveled thoroughfares in Northern Virginia, such as Routes 28, 50, 286 (Fairfax County Parkway), 267 (Dulles Toll Road) and Interstates 66, 495, and 95 throughout the morning hours.
